Garden of Happy Wishes

Hello,

I made this card using the Scrapbook.com exclusive set by Art impression's Owner/Creator Bonnie Krebs 5229 - SBC Exclusive Hydrangeas Set.  It's a big set with lots of wonderful hydrangeas and sentiments. I stamped the largest flowers on Strathmore Bristol smooth paper in Archival black ink and then watercolored them with Arteza.com watercolor pens. I then stamped that flower that's on top with foam tape on a piece of Bristol paper and then I embossed the black ink and watercolored several layers of color then fussy cut it out when it was dry. The mason jar is a die and stamp set from the Greetery which is one of my new favorite companies. The string around the mason jar is also from the set. The label die and the sentiment are both from Art Impressions. I used the Double Stitched Rectangle Die for the background pieces.

Ai Watercolor Weekend May 16, 2020

Hello,

I hope you will check out my tutorial for this card on YouTube. Click here to see it. I plan to create tutorials at least twice a month for the Art Impressions Watercolor Weekend. Be sure to go to the Ai blog to get lots of inspiration from the Design Team on the first and third Saturday of every month. To create this card, first ink up the shop from the 5260 - WC Large Shops in brown 969 then in blue 565, stamp it off on scratch paper, then stamp it in the middle of your watercolor paper or Bristol Smooth paper which is what I prefer to use. It's more white and I love how the colors blend on it. Pull the color out of the lines, then use a mix of Tombow 379 and N45 to color in the flower boxes and the sign. Color the windows with 565 and make the lines on the awning. Color the roof, steps and door knob with the N45. Use 177 to ink up the tiny foliage from 5009 - WC Mini Flower Set and stamp it in the window boxes leaving room for the flowers. Dab at the leaves with a wet brush tip. Ink up the tiny dots from that same set in 636 and stamp the flowers in. Dab at them with the wet brush. Use 177 to color the door. Ink the boat from the 5057 - WC Boat Set in 969 and then 565. Use the 4774 - Stamp Positioner to stamp the little boat on the side of the house. Pull the color out of the lines, then color the bench and oars with N45. Use the 636 to make a line on the boat and use 177 to make another line at the top of the boat. Use 969 to ink up the tree from the 5010 - WC Tree Set 1and stamp it on the side of the house after you use post it tape to cover the roof of the house. Pull the color out of the lines then color more of the trunk with the 969. Ink the foliage in 177 and stamp it on the tree.  Pull the color out of the lines, then ink it up with the 173 and stamp it again. Then dab at the foliage with a wet brush. Ink up the grass from the 4051 - Foliage Set 1 in 177 and stamp it around the tree trunk and the house. Pull the color up and out. Color the walkway with 969. Color the ground with green 177. Use 526 to color the sky.  Use 565 to add the shadows on the ground, around the boat and under the flower boxes. Use a grey fine tip pen to write on the sign, draw in lines that were washed away or hard to see and sign your artwork.  Cut it out with the 5062 - Rounded Rectangle A2 die set.

Friendship Bookmark Tutorial now on YouTube

Hello,

I created my first actual tutorial on YouTube but I didn't explain it step by step like Art Impressions owner/creator Bonnie Krebs does on her YouTube tutorials. I learned from her so be sure to watch her tutorials if you want to learn how to watercolor the Art Impressions way. Who knew there was so much work to creating tutorials? Everyone else makes it look so easy. I will practice and get better, I hope. I do welcome your tips, tricks and any constructive advice. Click here to watch it and please subscribe if you want to see more.

Ai Watercolor Weekend May 1, 2020 Quilt Shop

Hello,

This was a very fun card to make for me as I love Art Impressions and I love everything to do with quilts. I cannot take credit for the Quilt Shop idea though, as I am in an Art Impressions Facebook group and Mary Nielsen Schwaderer posted one. There's some really talented gals in that group so check it out if you are on Facebook and looking for more inspiration. Mary gave me permission to share a photo of her beautiful Quilt Shoppe:

So to make my card, I stamped the shop first after inking it in 969 and 565 and stamping it off on a piece of scrap paper. I pulled the color out of the lines with a damp brush. I stamped three of the little quilts using Memento Desert Sand ink leaving room for the fence that I penciled in with a ruler afterwards. I watercolored the roof and window boxes in 993. I used 526 for the windows and some of the quilts. I used 606 for the door and the stripes. I used 755 for the Quilt Shop Sign and parts of the quilts. I inked the tips of the leaves in 177 from the 5126 - WC Foliage Set 4 and stamped them in the flower boxes. I dabbed at them with a wet brush, then stamped the heart flowers from the 5009 - WC Mini Flower Set inked in 755 and some in 606 on top of the foliage in the flower boxes. I dabbed at them with a wet brush. I finished the quilts in the same colors mentioned before then I stamped the yellow flowers also from the 5009 set, inked in 993 and 177 in front of the shop. I stamped the foliage from the 4051 set inked in 177 to the side of shop. I dabbed at the leaves with a damp brush then I stamped a branch from the 4964 - WC Branches Set inked in 977 on top of the foliage. I do things backwards sometimes. I watercolored the sky using 526 and then I decided to add the light from the 5263 - WC Post Set so I inked it in Memento London Fog and then colored the light in 526 and the top of it in 606. I stamped the bench from the 5265 - WC Wrought Iron Set inked in Memento Tuxedo Black. I watercolored the shadows under the quilts, under the bench, in front of the door, and under the flowers in 565. I wrote Quilt Shop on it with a Derwent Graphite pen. I cut it out with the Rectangle Double Stitched Dies along with a background paper.
