Happy Birthday Hydrangeas December 19, 2019

Hello,

I am not good at coloring flowers but after watching a different method thanks to Bonnie Krebs - the owner/creator or Art Impressions Stamps #watercolorwednesday video on YouTube, I was excited to try this one! I actually love how it came out and I can't wait to try this method with all of my flower stamps, now. I agree with Bonnie about liking my coloring fast and easy. This stamp set 5229 - SBC Exclusive Hydrangeas Set is only available at Scrapbooks.com. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from this same stamp set and don't you love that font? I will be using all of the sentiments on my future cards. I used Tombow 379 for my flowers but the other colors are the same ones Bonnie used in her tutorial.  Give it a try!

Sparkle December 14, 2019

Hello,

I made this card using Art Impressions stamps and dies then watercolored it with Tombow pens.  Instead of using a white pen for the snow, I used a Sakura Gelly Roll pen which sparkles.  I love the dimension the pompom adds to the little girl's hat.  I painted a checkered pattern on the little girl's scarf but didn't like it so I painted it with green and it really came out dark but I like it.

Poinsettia Set from Art Impressions and Scrapbook.com

Hello,

Bonnie Krebs, Art Impressions owner/creator designed this large, beautiful 5209 - SBC Exclusive Poinsettia set which is available exclusively from Scrapbooks.com. I stamped the image in versa mark and then heat embossed it with Wow Metallic Platinum Sparkle Embossing Powder. The pictures do not do justice to the brilliant shine.  I watercolored the poinsettias first using Ranger Distress ink in candy apple on a palette. After the poinsettias were dry, I used 757 to make the darker areas.  I used 249 on the holly leaves and then after they dried, I added 026 to the holly. I watercolored the berries in 827 and after they dried, I added 606 to darken them. I used the 5063 - A2 Rectangle Double Stitched dies to cut out the picture and the frame around it. I stamped and embossed the sentiment and cut out the banner for it from the 5133 - Banner Dies.

Watercolor Weekend December 7, 2019

Hello,

My favorite artist Bonnie Krebs, Art Impressions owner/creator designed this large, beautiful 5209 - SBC Exclusive Poinsettia set which is available exclusively from Scrapbooks.com. I love using the sentiments on all of my Christmas cards. I made this one by stamping the wreath in Memento Desert Sand on Bristol smooth paper. I watercolored the poinsettias first using Ranger Distress ink in candy apple on a palette. I didn't use the usual #4 brush, I used the #1 brush as the images are pretty small. After the poinsettias were dry, I used 757 to make the darker areas. I used 993 on the centers of the poinsettias then after they dried, I added 026 for the darker areas. I used 249 on the holly leaves and then after they dried, I added 026 to the holly. I watercolored the berries in 827 and after they dried, I added 606. I stamped the sentiment in the center of the wreath using leaf green Archival ink. I stamped the sentiment on the inside with the same ink. I cut out the circle using the 5064 - Circle Double Stitched Dies and cut out a frame for it of that rose gold die paper. I cut out the background pieces using the A2 Rectangle Double Stitched Dies.

Winter Scene December 4, 2019

Hello,

I just made this card for the Simon Says Stamp Instagram Winter Challenge.  Instagram has the most wonderful card making community!  Make something with a winter theme and use the hashtag #sssigchallenge and you could win $50 in supplies from SSS. I used my Art Impressions stamps to make this scene. I stamped the tractor first, watercolored it then I masked it off and stamped the barn.  I watercolored it and then I stamped the mountains and pulled the color out of the lines, the way Bonnie Krebs, owner/creator of Ai does on her Watercolor Wednesday tutorials on YouTube.  I stamped the little boy and watercolored him then cut out the scene with my A2 Rectangle Dies.
