Art Impressions New Release February 27, 2020

Hello,

I am in love with all of the new release from Art Impressions and today I am showing you a card made with the brand new 5261 - WC Large Birdhouse Set. It has two beautiful birdhouses along with three new birds. I stamped the cat from the 4873 - WC Cats Set inked in 969 first, then made a mask and covered it before stamping the birdhouse, after inking it with the 979 then the 565. I pulled the color out of the lines of the birdhouse and cat then watercolored the cat in N45. I used a fine tip black marker to darken the eyes, ears and areas of the cat. I watercolored the birdhouse with 407 and darkened the windows and made the shaded areas with my dirty (mixed with 969) 565 Tombow marker. I stamped the flowers from the 5008 - WC Flower Set 3 inked in 177 and 725 then touched them with a wet brush. I wanted to add another color so I used the fine tip end of the 993 to dot each flower and dabbed at them with a wet brush again. I stamped the grasses from the 5007 inked in 177 then watercolored the ground with the 177 off the palette. Next, I stamped the blue cardinal from the 5261 - WC Large Birdhouse Set onto the roof, using the stamp positioner, inked in 969. I colored him with 526 and used the fine tip marker to draw the line under his beak and to darken his eye. I used 526 to watercolor the sky. I used a Sakura Glitter Gelly Roll pen on the flowers and eyes but it doesn't show up in my picture. I cut out my scene with the 5132 - Tag Stitched dies and the background pieces with the 5063 - Rectangle Double Stitched Dies

Making Cards Out of Scenes February 22, 2020

Hello,

I am making cards out of my scraps that I have watercolored and thrown in a box.  Here's another one that I made using Art Impression's 4701 - Clay Pot stamp set.  It includes those awesome purple flower stamps and a branch set that I used.  The grass and leaves are from the original Foliage Set - 4051 and those blue flowers are from the Flower Set - 4052.

Making Cards out of Watercolored Scenes February 16, 2020

Hello,

I attended a class taught by Art Impression's Kendra Krebs in 2017 and I made this scene and finally turned it into a card. I love how cute it is with my new Nordic dies from the Greetery. I have a bunch of scenes that I plan to turn into cards now that I sent 20 of my cards to Art Impressions. I need to replenish my stock.

Watercolor Weekend February 15, 2020

Hello,

The weather has been wonderful in Las Vegas so I made this Spring like card for the Art Impression's Watercolor Weekend. I actually used Ranger Archival Ink in Coffee to stamp the boots from the 5194 - WC Shoe Set and the umbrella from the 5118 - WC Beach Girls Set. I knew I was going to put glossy accents on them and I didn't want the lines to blur. The glossy accents really makes the boots and umbrella look like they are made of vinyl or rubber. Next, I watercolored them in 993 and 977. To add the shadows, I used 565. I masked off the boots, then stamped in the flowers from 4868 in 177 and No. 6 violet. Then I stamped the flower from the Flower Set 4052 in 177 and 755. The foliage is from 5126 - WC Foliage Set 4 inked in 177. Then, I dabbed at the flowers and foliage with a wet brush. I used 565 to paint the ground shadows and the sky. I used the 5063 - Double Stitched Rectangle A2 dies to cut out my scene and the background pieces. I put it all together and then added the glossy accents. Set it aside, in a safe place for a few hours, so it can dry.  I accidentally dropped mine and ruined my first one.

Art Impressions Watercolor Wednesday Tutorial February 5, 2020

Hello,

I almost always try Art Impression's Bonnie Krebs' tutorials on YouTube called "Watercolor Wednesdays." I just don't understand why everybody doesn't try them and post them? If you do, I would love to see them! She truly is my most favorite artist and always inspires me. I've learned so much from her and will be sad if she ever stops creating new stamps and new ideas for me to try.
