Ai Watercolor Weekend March 5, 2021

Hello,

I made this card for the Art Impressions Watercolor Weekend. You can check out the Ai blog to see what my teammates and I make twice a month. If you would like to try out this card, first stamp the chest from the 4604 Chest Set inked in brown Tombow 969 then 565 and stamp it off on a piece of scratch paper first. Next stamp the elf from the 5125 Elves Set inked in 969 and using the stamp positioner. Then use a pencil to draw in some gold coins and to draw in lines for the rainbow. Drag the color out of the lines on the chest then watercolor the lid inside with 565 and the band and lock in 969. The chest itself is watercolored with 177. I used the blue Tombow Twintone to color in the lock and draw back the lines in the chest lid. I painted the coins with Gold watercolor then outlined them with a fine tip Copic marker. Color your rainbow in the correct order using ROYGBV - Tombow 885, Marvy 49, Marvy 43, Tombow 177, Tombow 526, Tombow 679. Paint a little sky with the 526. Color the elf's hair Marvy 49. His pants and hat are 177. His shirt is 679 but then I drew stripes with the blue Tombow Twintone pen. His shoes and skin is 969. Don't forget a little blush on his cheek with the 885 and draw his eyelash in with the blue Tombow Twintone. Stamp the grasses from the 5007 Foliage Set 3 in the 177.  Use 565 for some shadows under the grasses and chest. The sentiment is from the Shamrock Set 5006. I used the 5063 Rectangle Double Stitched Dies and 5065 Oval Double Stitched Dies for the background pieces. Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Ai Watercolor Weekend February 19, 2021

Hello,

I know it's a little early for Easter cards but I send a few out so I need to start early. The bunnies are so cute to use and the church reminds us of the true meaning of Easter. I am so in love with all of the Simple Scenes Sets because once you stamp one, it's so easy to build the scene around them. I loved Art Impression's Bonnie Krebs' advice to stamp the main images and then you can fill in the rest with whatever stamps you want. If you would like to recreate a card like this, first stamp the 5376 Basic Scene inked in the brown Tombow 969 for the road but use a light color for the hills such as N89. Use the smaller mountains in the 5198 Mountain set inked in both 969 and 565 but stamp it off on scratch paper first a couple of times or they can be too dark. I had to stamp it twice to go from one side to the other. Stamp the smallest church from the 5058 Church Set inked in both the 969 and the 565, then stamped off on scratch paper. Pencil in the front hill very lightly and stamp the bunnies from the 4874 Bunnies Set using the stamp positioner inked in 969. Now you can start pulling the color out of the lines and use color off the palette to paint your scene. You can add the trees from the church set like I did in brown. You can stamp the leaves from the 5372 Mini Foliage Set in 743. Stamp the hedges from that same set inked in 177 along the hill line. Stamp the mini pine tree from that same set inked in 249 along the other hill line. Stamp the grass from that same set inked in 177. Stamp the flowers from the 5258 Flower Set 4 inked in both 249 and the 743 along the front hill. The grass on just the front hill is from the 4051 Foliage Set 1 inked in 177, the rest of the grass is from the mini set. Add some sky and shadows with 565. I drew in eyebrows on one bunny to make him be the male and eyelashes on the other bunny to make her the female and I drew whiskers on both using a pencil. Don't forget to darken the bunnie's eyes and noses with the fine tip of the Tombow Twintone pen. I also drew the cross on the church with it. Use the Rounded Corner 5062 Rectangle Dies to cut it out and a background piece of paper.  I found these scalloped edged card bases at Michael's.

Ai Watercolor Weekend February 5, 2021

Hello,

I made this Valentine's Day card for the Art Impressions Watercolor Weekend. If it's from a male to a female, a cute sentiment to put inside would be, "She thinks my tractor's sexy". So if you would like to recreate this card, stamp the tractor from the 5059 Harvest Set after inking it in Tombow 969 and then 565 and stamping it off on scrap paper first. Use the positioner and stamp the truck from the 5011 Truck Mini Set, being sure to only ink the back part of the truck in the same 969 and 565 and stamping it off. I used a pencil to draw in the hearts. Color half of each heart in 856 or 837 and then color the other half in 993. Erase the pencil lines only after the hearts are dry or you could tear the paper. Pull the color out of the lines then color the tractor in 856 and the grey parts in N45. Color the trailer in 977, 856 on the wheels and N45 on the tires. Paint lines in 969 across the trailer. Paint the shadow under everything with 565 then stamp the grass from the 4051 Foliage Set inked in 177. The tall grass is from the 5126 Foliage Set 4 inked in 992. The sky is in 526. Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours!
