Day 24 of #thedailymarker30day

Hello,

It's day 24 of #thedailymarker30day coloring challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin. Click on her name to go to her blog for more information on the contest. I just love this bear and penguin from Penny Black Stamps. The trees are also from Penny Black. I stamped the bear, masked him off then stamped the trees using my Misti on Bristol Smooth paper. I used Tombow pens to watercolor the scene.  I think it would be perfect for Christmas or a December birthday.

Day 17 of #thedailymarker30day Coloring Challenge

Hello,

Its Day 17 of the fabulous Kathy Racoosin's coloring challenge. It's half way over but you can still participate. Just spend some time coloring using your favorite method, take a picture of it, and then post it on your social media with the hashtag #thedailymarker30day.

I am still having fun with my favorite new stamp set from Art Impressions 5197 - WC Winter Kids Set. You can change the colors to change the entire look! This would make a cute winter birthday card. I usually don't add the sentiment to the inside until I decide who the recipient will be. I watercolored the image on Strathmore Bristol Smooth Paper - my favorite paper! The colors just blend so nicely on it. I used some Penny Black dies from Scrapbook.com for the background. The A2 die for the striped background is from Art Impressions.

Watercolor Weekend November 15, 2019

Hello Watercolor Friends,

Don't you love Christmas trees? I hope you like my Christmas tree card for the Art Impressions bi-monthly Watercolor Weekend. The first thing I stamped was the bunny in brown 969 from the 4874 - WC Bunny Set and then I stamped it on post-it tape to make a mask. I stamped the barrel from the 4871 - WC Rustic Container Set after inking it in blue 565 and then brown 969. I watercolored the bands with N25 on the palette and the wood parts in 947. I watercolored the inside of the ears of the bunny in 772 and then I took the fine tip of the brown Tombow TwinTone to the eyes, nose and other areas that needed to be darker. I stamped the tree trunk from the 4960 - WC Fir Trees Set in 969 and the branches in two greens, 177 and 249. I dabbed all over the tree with a wet brush and then stamped more branches and repeated my process to really fill in the tree. No Charlie Brown trees for me, I like them fat and full. I stamped a branch from the 4964 - WC Branches Set with the 969 and then added leaves in 177 from the 4867 - WC Foliage Set 2. I dabbed at the leaves with a wet brush and then I took the fine tip of the red 847 to make the berries. I watercolored with 565 for the snow on the ground and the sky. I dabbed circles of glossy accents all over the tree and then I sprinkled red glitter on them. After I used a hot gun to dry the glossy accents, I cut out the scene with the largest die from the 5065 - Oval Double Stitched Die Set. I cut out the background piece of white glitter paper with the largest die from the 5062 Rounded Rectangle Die and then put it all together on an A2 card base.

Watercolor Weekend November 2, 2019

Hello Friends,

Can you believe it's already November? I can't. I'm working away on Christmas cards. I made this one with yet again, my favorite new stamp set from Art Impressions - 5197 - WC Winter Kids Set. I stamped the lamp post and little girl and fussy cut them out after I watercolored them. I painted the light post in N15 and 026 which is the prettiest shade of yellow! I used the stamp positioner to add the bird from the 5056 - WC Fairy Doors Set because the bird was the smallest one I could find. I colored the bird in with blue 528 and brown 969. I stamped the little girl in with brown (stamped off first) and then watercolored her in with 565, 969, 026, 177, NO 77 pastel peach and NO 67 bubble gum pink. I used the fine tip of the brown Tombow TwinTone pen to draw in some details, her eyelash and her hair. I added a pompom to her hat with a glue dot. I cut out a white piece of Bristol Smooth Paper using a 5063 - Rectangle A2 Double Stitched die and then I used distress inks and round sponge daubers to make the light circle and the sky background. I stamped the trees on the sides from the 4960 - WC Fir Trees Set using the brown 969 and two greens, the 249 and then the 177. I added very little water (mostly to the trunk area) so the branches would stay more detailed. I cut out the snow bank with a die and adhered it with foam tape. Then I used foam tape to adhere the lamp post and the little girl. I used 565 to add the shadows under them. I cut out that frame by using the two largest rectangle dies taped together. The last thing I did was add the snow drops using a stylus and white Gouache paint.  It takes a bit of time to dry.

It's also Day 1 of the fabulous Kathy Raccosin's  14th 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Just ADD THE HASHTAG #thedailymarker30day to your coloring to participate. Check out all the details by clicking here.
