Ai Watercolor Weekend August 14, 2020

Hello,

I have created a Pet Shop card for the Art Impressions Watercolor Weekend.  Be sure to check out the Ai blog tomorrow for more inspiration from the Design Team. I made a YouTube tutorial on how to make this card:

If you make this, wouldn't it be cute to put a cat up there beside the dog and or a bird on the top of the bench?

Happy Birthday Dog Twist Set

Hello,

I watercolored this cute dog from the Art Impressions Dog Twist Set 5211 and I made a tutorial and you can watch it here:

I stamped the dog images front and back on Canson watercolor paper using my Misti so I could ink them up several times with Memento Desert Sand dye ink. I watercolored them and then used the dies that come with the set. I used the dies from the 5218 - Twist Frame Die set that works with all of the Twist Die Sets and even comes with that cute Happy Birthday die.

Cards for Kindness Ai WW July 31, 2020

Hello,

All of the Art Impression's Design Team members are participating in the Cards for Kindness event hosted by Scrapbook.com and here are the 10 cards that I am sending. You can click here for more information on the event. I usually participate in these types of events because who doesn't get excited to get a homemade card AND I love making cards so I usually have an abundance.

To recreate the fall scene card above, first stamp the birdhouse from the 5261 Large Birdhouse Set in the center of your paper after inking it in both the Tombow 969 and the 565 pens. Use the stamp positioner to stamp the basket and the apples from the 5059 Harvest Set on one side of the birdhouse, inked the same 969 and 565 and the cat from the 4873 Cats Set on the other side.  Next pull the colors out of the lines on all three images then watercolor the roof and the posts with the Tombow 837.  Stamp the leaves from the 4605 Basket Set in the 837, then in the 947 and then in the 993. Watercolor the windows of the birdhouse in 565. Use 565 to add shade lines under the posts and anywhere you think shadows should be. Next watercolor the apples in the 837 but be sure to leave a highlight so they look more round. Watercolor the leaves in 177. Add shadows between the apples with the tip of a fine tip Copic Multi liner. Color the basket in 969 and the metal parts in the N45. Watercolor the cat with the N45 and use a touch of the 837 for the cat's ear and cheeks.  Use a fine tip pin the add the whiskers and  darken the eyes and nose. Use the foliage from the 5126 Foliage Set 4 and stamp it around first in the 993 then in the 947. Use some of the 947 to make the dirt and then use 565 to add the shadows under the apple basket and the cat. Use 565 to watercolor in the sky.

You Brighten My Day!

I just love that puppy from Art Impressions! I finally got this 4762 Wooden Gate from Ai and I love how the puppy in front brings it to life. This is a quick and easy one. Start by inking up the puppy from the 4959 Dog Set with the brown Tombow 969 marker and stamping it on your watercolor paper. Make a mask on post-it tape, cut it out and cover the puppy. Ink up the gate in the brown 969, then 565 blue and stamp it off before you stamp it on your watercolor paper. You can use the stamp positioner to put the gate exactly where you want it. Pull the color out of the lines of the gate and puppy then use the light grey N75 to watercolor the gate. Ink the flowers from the gate set in 158 green and 775 pink or any colors you want to use. Use the vine from the 5007 - Foliage Set 3 inked in the 158 to add more foliage. Ink the small grass set from the 4051 Foliage Set 1 in the 158 and stamp it on either side of the gate. Ink the heart flowers in 606 purple from the 4868 Flower Set 2 and then dab at all the greenery and flowers with a wet brush tip. Use 526 to watercolor some sky in. Use some 565 on the palette to add some shadows under the dog and the gate. Use some grey or black for the dog's ears and tail. Use the pink on his cheeks. Use a very fine black ink pen to darken his eyes, nose and mouth. I also used that pen to add details to the gate hinges and lock. Ink up that sentiment from the 5229 - SBC Exclusive Hydrangeas Set in Versa Fine Black Ink and put your card in a Misti or other stamp platform because after all that work, you don't want to mess it up. Of course, I learned that the hard way! Cut out your picture and background paper with the 5062 - Rounded Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Dies and adhere it to a card. If you want some sparkle and shine on your card, use Wink of Stella on the flowers, gate and the puppy's cheeks and ears.  It doesn't show in the picture but it's so beautiful in real life.

Ai Watercolor Weekend July 17, 2020

Hello,

I needed an anniversary card for my son and his wife and I had seen that sentiment on a cactus card on Instagram. I used my label maker to make that sentiment strip and then put together some cactus and pots for this funny anniversary card for the Art Impressions Watercolor Weekend.  Be sure to check out the Ai blog for more watercolor weekend inspiration. My teammates are super talented! I made a tutorial on YouTube for this card in case you want to try it:
